The world witnessed the greatest comeback in the sport’s history on Sunday in Augusta, Georgia.  Nearly 11 years after his major win, Tiger Woods won the Masters in 2019 and the social media is flooding with congratulations from both world leaders and sports greats alike.

Woods by one stroke with a bravura 70 final round, keeping his head while the best of next-generation golfers lost, they ended the longest drought in the golf history.

 U.S President Donald Trump who has earlier played golf with Woods has tweeted,” Congratulations to @Tiger Woods. A truly great Champion!”

Former President Barack Obama wrote,” To come back and win the Masters after all the highs and lows is a testament to excellence, grit, and determination.”

It was a total euphoria at Augusta National, where the crowd cheered, “Tiger! Tiger! Tiger! “and an emotionally overwhelmed Woods who threw up his arms in triumph unable to wipe off the smile from his face.

From the golf, great Jack Nicklaus, who had won 18 titles, tweeted, “A big well done from me to @TigerWoods. I am so happy for him and for the game of golf. This is just fantastic.”

Stephen Curry, the 3-time NBA Championship winner called the performance the “greatest comeback story in sports”
