Indian boxing star Vijender Singh is all set to begin the new phase of his boxing career as he will make his debut in the American professional circuit on April 12 against a yet-to-be-decided opponent. He started training under the Hall of Famer Freddie Roach who shaped the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Mike Tyson.

The 33-year –old recently shifted to Los Angles where he gets the training at the Wild Card Boxing Club under the best boxing coach of all time, his Indian promoters IOS Boxing Promotions said in a press release.

Roach has been the mentor to 36 World Champions and Vijender is thrilled to start his training under such a legendary figure.

“I believe that Vijender has the talent and dedication to become a world champion. He has a great amateur background, a style that will give any super middleweight in the world problems and power in both hands,” Roach said.

When asked about this new association, Promoter of the IOS Boxing Promotions Neerav Tomar said, “We hope together with Freddie, Vijender Singh will be able to script history and we at IOS are thrilled with this association.”
