One of the youngest players to ever represent Chelsea or Wales in senior competitions, 18-year-old Ethan Ampadu, extends his Chelsea career with his feet firmly planted on the ground. Chelsea was often criticized, especially in the past few years for its lack of inspiring and developing Premier League talents and its tendency to loan out their best players. However, they are trying to change the course of wind by confirming the extension of its contract for another 5 years to the youngster Ampadu and thereby keeping him at Stamford Bridge untill 2023.

Ethan Ampadu who moved to Stamford Bridge from Exeter in July 2017, has yet to feature under the new head coach Maurizio Sarri but made several impressive appearances under Antonio Conte. He announced his international debut with a man of the match- display, in a 4-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland and earned great praise and applause.

Ethan who played as a striker at the beginning of his career later developed into one of the most promising defenders and midfielders in England. His meteoric rise to a ’magnificent player’ as quoted by Wales boss Ryan Giggs was just spectacular to behold.

Chelsea director Marina Granovaskaia who was all praises for his success journey quoted” Ethan has shown great potential and immense maturity since arriving at Chelsea which was a year ago. He convinced a lot of people with his exceptional quality and mentality.” He was almost sure that he will become a key player for the club in the coming years.

Ethan Ampadu speaking to Chelsea’s official website responded,” I am really proud and happy. I am really looking forward to the next five years and all I have to do now is to continue to work hard and hopefully good things will happen.”

The next five years of Ethan and Chelsea looks extremely promising as this new contract marks the beginning of great achievements from a blooming star. And yet, there are miles and miles to go for Ethan Ampadu.
