Prithvi Shaw, the young star Mumbai Batsman has been ruled out of the West Indies A tour that is set to begin from next week. The injury is the headache to this young gun, was also the case when he could have been easily into the Indian test XI against Australia in Australia but twisting his left leg during a practice game ruled him out of the test series earlier this year. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has been making rapid strides over the past 12 months, will be replacing Shaw for the tour that comprises of 5 50-over games.
Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan has also been selected in place of Rishabh Pant who was called up to join India’s World Cup squad earlier this month as a replacement for the injured Shikhar Dhawan. Mayank Agarwal is the other person missing out from India A squad after he too joined the national side as the replacement for Vijay Shankar who became the latest casualty in the World Cup.
Mayank’s spot will be taken by Anmolpreet Singh, an aggressive opening batsman who has been performing quite well in the domestic and was also the part of Mumbai Indians Squad this season. The one-day series will begin on July 11, 2019.
