The 17-year-old Manu Bhaker, the shooting sensation of India secured the quota for 2010 Tokyo Olympics with a fourth-place finish in the women’s 10m air pistol event of the ISSF World Cup on Wednesday.

She shot a score of 201.0 in the final, missing out the medal spot by a tenth of a point but still, India sits stop the medals tally in Munich with three gold by Apurvi Chandela, Saurabh Chaudhary, and Rahi Sarnobat.

Bhaker who is a winner of multiple international events, finished third in the qualification with a total of 582 points (28*inner 10s), shooting a solid 98 in the last two rounds. After a disappointing pistol malfunction in her earlier event on Monday which led her to slip to the fifth spot after leading the field, she was consoled by securing India’s first quota in women’s 10m pistol.

Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma won their quota spots in men’s 10m air pistol at the World Cups in Delhi and Beijing respectively.
