Mahendra Singh Dhoni had an injury scare during the long batting session at the nets ahead of the first ODI versus Australia at Hyderabad.

Dhoni remains the talk of the town all the time ahead of the Indian encounters even while he may not be the Indian skipper. Despite the poor performance in 2018, he rose to the occasion and earned the Man of the Series award in the ODI series versus Australia Down Under.

This time ahead of the India-Australia ODI at home, the former captain has suffered an injury scare in the practice session held at Hyderabad on Friday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

As per the report, while he was having the long practice sessions at the nets during which he was taking throwdowns like all the first team players, one delivery bounced a bit and stuck on his forearm. He was reportedly seen in pain and did not bat further as a precautionary measure.

So far, there are no reports on the physical fitness of the player and whether he will be able to play the first ODI on Saturday. The team will make a final call by Friday and in case Dhoni can’t make it then Rishabh Pant will get the chance to don the gloves in Hyderabad.
