The Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has confirmed his exit from the ISL Football club, Kerala Blasters on Sunday. Since its inception in 2014, he was always an integral part of this club. Before the beginning of the new ISL Football season, he sold off his stakes in the franchise which initially was 40% and later cut off to half.

“I am very proud of Kerala Blasters and a piece of my heart will always beat for them”, said the master blaster who was always seen cheering his team from the stands in the home and away games.”After 5 years of formation, it is time for the club to put the building blocks for the next five years and beyond. It is also the time for me to reflect on which role I want to play. After thinking and many discussions with the team, I have decided to exit Kerala Blasters as a co-promoter”, Tendulkar said in a statement issued.

“It has been a thrilling experience for me to chase this pursuit and I will cherish always cherish this “.

Sachin Tendulkar was always the part of the Kerala Blasters along with its co-owners, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, producer Allu  Arvind, actors Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi.

Blasters who finished runners-up in 2014 and 2016, is coached by former England goalkeeper, David James and the squad is now in its pre-season training at Thailand.

Rumors were spreading around from the moment of Sachin’s exit, about the taking over of the franchise by the international Lulu group owned by Kerala businessman Yusuf Ali MA. This was denied later by the Kerala Blasters team who declared,” the existing 80% of KBFC comprising of IQuest, Mr. Chiranjeevi and  Allu Arvind have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sachin Tendulkar’s 20% stake in the club”.

“Any other news regarding is purely speculation. Sachin has been a great support and we thank him for his immense contribution to KBFC. He will forever be a member of the yellow army.

We will surely uphold and take forward, the spirit of sport, the spirit of fans and the spirit of Kerala”.
