Rahi Sarnobat was beaming with a simple smile, as the whole world congratulated her for clinching the gold in the 25m pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2019 in Munich, adding a third gold to India’s medal tally.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Saurabh  Chaudhary- India’s teenage star broke his own world record score of  246.0, a score he had posted at Delhi earlier this year to earn the Olympic quota, with a score of 246.3 to claim the second gold in the ISSF World Cup this year.

Both the medals came with a bonus as Rahi bagged a quota place for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games and Saurabh recorded a new world record.

The 17-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary can put a monk to shame when it comes to retaining equanimity in an electrifying atmosphere. After the win, he said,” I knew I had a big lead, but I was not thinking about it. Just focused on my technique. I did not turn or look back as it was important to retain a good position, physically. I did not want to change anything.”

Rahi was confident of her performance in the final, “Finals I have always been good at, and you can call it my mastery. If I reach a final, it’s like I was meant to get a medal.”
