As many as 971 players have registered themselves for the upcoming IPL auction which will be held on 19th December in Kolkata. The list includes 713 Indian and 258 overseas players who will enter the shortlisting process for the auction.
The world’s biggest cricket league is coming around the corner & the stage is set for the much-awaited extravaganza. But before the actual tournament starts, the franchises are looking to strengthen their armory. Things are getting crazy around there & we can expect some fireworks at the auctions later this month. Aiming to fill up the available 73 spots are 215 capped players, 754 uncapped and 2 players from Associate Nations. Franchises will now have time until 5:00 PM IST, Monday, 9th December to submit their shortlist of players that will make up the final VIVO IPL 2020 Player Auction list.
19 capped Indian players have registered themselves for the auction. The overseas list is headed by Australia & South Africa who have 55 & 54 players each respectively. Some pretty big names will be up for grabs once head auctioneer Hugh Edmeades starts the proceedings with his hammer. They include Glen Maxwell, Chris Lynn, Shane Marsh, Jason Roy, Pat Cummins, Dale Steyn, Robin Uthappa & many more. The fans will surely want their sides to pick their favourites from the lot. The entire cricketing world’s eyes will be on Kolkata come 19th December.
