Yesterday’s India Vs Bangladesh clash witnessed some fine moments, both on and off the field. Rohit Sharma’s century, Jasprit Bumrah’s fine performance with the ball ensured India to qualify for the semi-finals. There came thousands of fans to support team India, but an 87-year-old lady grabbed everyone’s attention. Proudly sporting the tricolor on her cheeks and draped around an Indian team’s scarf, she was blowing a horn passionately as the men in blue raced towards victory at Edgbaston.

An aged fan of the Indian team made the headlines on Twitter with her immense passion for the game and her love for the Indian team. Many fans were inspired to see her devotion to the gentleman’s game. Her photo went viral on social media as soon as the cameraman caught her in the frames while cheering for team India.

The kind of enthusiasm and energy with which the lady named Charulata Patel Ji was cheering for team India, many fans were overwhelmed to see this and even they photographed her and tweeted about the same.

As India won the match by 28 runs, she got a chance to meet her favourite cricketers. She was seen hugging Rohit Sharma after the game, and also shared a laugh with the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. “I love this Indian team and all the players are like my kids,” she said.

Virat Kohli too tweeted about the meeting. “Also would like to thank all our fans for all the love & support & especially Charulata Patel ji. She’s 87 and probably one of the most passionate & dedicated fans I’ve ever seen. Age is just a number; the passion takes you leaps & bounds. With her blessings, on to the next one,” the Indian Skipper wrote.

Cricket brings so much joy and happiness around the globe. In an interview later, she confessed that she was not born in India, but her parents were Indians. She is supporting India and it is heartening to see so much of enthusiastic and loving fans supporting the national team. This support and love from fans will always stand tall behind the glories of our team.
