On Friday, cricket lovers were treated with a special sight of MS Dhoni presenting camouflaged caps to the team India ahead of the Ranchi ODI at the JSCA International Stadium.

The special cap was worn as the mark of tribute to the loss of lives in Pulwama terror attack and the armed forces. Also, they wore those caps to encourage all the Indians to donate to the National Defense Fund for taking care of the education of the dependents of the martyrs.

Dhoni was seen presenting the caps to the team as he is the honorary lieutenant in the Indian Army. Skipper Virat Kohli after winning the toss and choosing to field said, “This is a special cap, it’s a tribute to the Armed Forces.”

“We are all donating the match fees of this game to the families of the martyrs. I urge everyone to do the same and stick to the families of our armed forces,” he told Murali Karthik.

It was not just to the players but the Indian commentators at the box were also given the caps and former India captain Sunil Gavaskar gave away them.

The move created a positive response even from the former captain of England cricket team who also appreciated the thought behind the gesture.
