Hardik Pandya underwent successful back surgery in the United Kingdom on Friday.  He posted the news to his followers through an Instagram post on Saturday. The BCCI later released a media statement with details of the surgery.

The Baroda all-rounder had complained of back pain during the final T20 match against South Africa in Bengaluru. “The BCCI Medical Team consulted a panel of spine specialists in England and they recommended surgery for a long-term solution of this issue,” the statement said. “On Friday, a successful surgery was conducted. Hardik will soon commence his rehabilitation process.”

The back issue has been troubling the Mumbai Indians star man for quite some time after surfacing during the 2018 test series in England. After having a breakout IPL season last summer, much has been expected of the talented all-rounder who can contribute across formats. Hopefully, this surgery has fixed the issue & Hardik can get back to his best soon.
