Thanks to stellar performances from Deepti Sharma & Shafali Verma, the Indian Women’s team has taken a formidable 2-0 lead in the T20 series against West Indies. Having won the preceding ODI series 2-1, the team is on a four-match winning streak against the hosts.

The credit goes to off-spinner Deepti Sharma who ran through the Windies middle-order recording her career-best T20I figures of 10 for 4 wickets. Thanks to her excellent bowling performance India was able to restrict the Windies to a paltry total of 103/7.

It was then the turn of Shafali & Smriti who combined to reach the target of 104 without losing any wickets. The pair had created history just a day before by recording India’s highest partnership in T20I’s. The 15-year-old Shafali scored her second consecutive Fifty. She had smashed another record on Saturday when she became the youngest Indian to score an international Fifty to break Sachin Tendulkar’s 30-year-old record.

Match Highlight: West Indies 103/7 in 20 overs (Chedean Nation 32, Hayley Matthews 23; Deepti Sharma 4-10) lost to India 104/0 in 10.3 overs (Shafali Verma 69*, Smriti Mandhana 30*) by 10 wickets.
