Nick Kyrgios’s feud with umpire Fergus Murphy boiled over during an explosive outing at the Cincinnati Masters left the controversial Australian Player with a heavy fine of $113k on Thursday and facing a possible suspension from the ATP.

Kygrios flared up at the end of the second set and never regained his composure, smashing rackets during the break which he was not allowed by the umpire before appearing to abuse him verbally before the conclusion of the match.

The tour announced penalties a day after Kygios outrageous behavior in the court during a 6-7(3), 7-6(4), 6-2 loss to Karen Khachanov.

The ATP listed a breakdown of eight fines $3k to $20k each for breaking code of conducts like verbal abuse and audible obscenity.

The tout also said it is looking further into what happened during and immediately after the match for any further violations for additional fines or suspensions to be warranted.

The fine amounted to him 10% of the player’s earnings for the year in which he had won the Acapulco International in March and this month’s Citi Open in Washington and the suspension could impact his participation in the US Open.
