Asian champion shot putter has been banned for 4 years by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for flunking four dope tests in 2017.

The suspension would start from July 20, 201, the date of her provisional suspension, according to the ADDP of NADA dated March 29. Director General Navin Agarwal confirmed that Manpreet Kaur’s suspension.

She can file an appeal before the Anti-Doping Appeal Panel however she will still lose all her results in the above mentioned period.

All the four doping test failures come under one anti-doping rule violation and the panel rejected the athlete’s plea of sabotage and contamination of food supplements on the ground that “she has failed to produce the way in which the prohibited substance entered her body.”

“The athlete has failed to add any evidence in support of her sabotage claim which would have been done by co-athlete. Also, there are no other exceptional circumstances submitted which could justify the assumption of lack of intent,” the panel said in its order.
