Mary Kom, India’s boxing star who recently clinched the gold medal in the 23rd President’s Cup had made a bold comment regarding the country’s expectation of her performance and reality. However, she promised to do her best to ensure the expectation to come true.

“Country is expecting gold from the next Olympic. Individually I feel proud to be here that people are expecting me to win the gold in the Olympics. Yes it is easy for them to say and the country can easily say that, but it is difficult for me to implement. ..We have to learn many things and to do a lot of work. I will try my best to fulfill what the country is expecting from me”, she told on Thursday.

The London Olympics Bronze medalist also indicated that qualifying for the Olympics is also very important and she wants to move ahead step by step.

“Qualification is a very important topic and once I qualify, slowly I will do better and better. And of course, I will see that the nation is expecting from me. I will try best from my side”, she added.

When asked about juggling weight categories, she responded that it is not an issue for her
