The new goal of the sprint superstar Usain Bolt is to go after his boyhood dream- to become a professional football player! His dreams are coming true as he is all set and ready to play for the Australian club, Central Coast Mariners in a trial match on Friday.
The 32-year-old eight-time Olympic champion made his footballing debut in the late August in a 20–minute cameo as a substitute on the left-wing, nearly scoring but got tired soon. He is much more confident now, improving his fitness as a professional soccer player.
The A-League was struggling in the recent years due to the lack of fans and declining TV ratings and the inclusion of the sports stars like Usain Bolt will surely boost up the interest of the locals and viewers.
Not only has Coach Mike Mulvey raised the prospect of starting with Bolt but also deployed him in the starting line-up in a friendly against Macarthur South West United in Sydney.
“I am happy to get the chance and go out there and start, and do my best because that is the key thing”, Bolt told Mariner’s club media on Wednesday.
