While Bengaluru is already knocked out, they can still have a say on who goes through. Virat Kohli’s side can still spoil Hyderabad’s party who virtually just need a win to go through. On account of superior Net run rate (highest in the league) which they have earned through massive wins, 14 points might just be enough to see them through. Their competitors for that spot are Kolkata who needs a massive win in their game against Mumbai & hopes Hyderabad lose badly. After narrowly losing against Mumbai in the super over, they still very much control their own fate. On the other hand, Bengaluru would like to finish with a win in what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign. Also if they win & Punjab lose their last game, this will see them avoiding the last spot in the standings.

Bengaluru

Marcus Stoinis has left to prepare for the world cup. The side played with only 3 foreigners in the last game. As Hetmyer, Grandhomme & Southee are waiting in the wings, Heinrich Klassen has not done much to boost his chances. It will be interesting to see how Bengaluru start their final game of the campaign. On the bowling front, they have tried many combinations but nothing seems to have worked. Although Yuzvendra Chahal is their leading bowler with 17 wickets, this has not been one of his best tournaments.

Probable Lineup – Parthiv Patel (W), Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Heinrich Klaasen, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Pawan Negi, Washington Sundar, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal

Hyderabad

A sublime inning from Manish Pandey almost saw them through at the Wankhede. It was a performance that was badly needed in the absence of David Warner & Jonny Bairstow. Hyderabad has yearned for batting support from their Indian contingent throughout the campaign. And Pandey has hit form at a crucial time. The Afghani pair also did well & their contribution will be important to the team’s plans. Kane Williamson will need to shoulder some batting responsibility.

Probable Lineup – Martin Guptill, Wriddhiman Saha (W), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson (C), Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed
