Arsenal has announced the signing of Nicolas Pepe completing the club’s record signing in the process. The 24-year-old who is now the most expensive African footballer of all time took Ligue 1 by storm last season.

He netted 22 times and provided 11 assists to catch the eyes of several clubs-but it is the Gunners who eventually won the game of signing the Ivory Coast forward Nicolas Pepe.

Financial details of the transfer are not announced formally but British media reported that it was around 72 million pounds which surpassed the 56 million paid to Borussia Dortmund for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last year.

Arsenals are in for a treat with Nicolas Pepe and manager Unai Emery is very positive about this move who said, “Nicolas is a highly rated and talented winger who was wanted by the top teams in Europe. Signing the top-class winger has been one of our key objectives and I am delighted he is joining. He will add pace, power, and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team”.

Speaking of his move Pepe said,” Being here is very emotional because it has not been easy for me. I have come a long way and struggled a lot and so signing in for this great club is a big reward.”
